Huawei Cloud has announced a comprehensive rollout of enterprise AI products aimed at building an open agentic cloud. The announcement, made at HUAWEI CONNECT 2026 in Shanghai, underscores the company's strategic push to provide the infrastructure, platforms, and industry ecosystems necessary for the widespread adoption of AI agents. Dr. Peter Zhou, Director of the Board at Huawei and CEO of Huawei Cloud, delivered a keynote titled "The Agentic Cloud for the Agentic World: Build Together, Grow Together," outlining the company's vision for the agentic era.
Central to this vision is the new AI Cluster Service (AICS), which is designed to strengthen the silicon bedrock on the cloud. AICS features a five-level fast recovery mechanism with full-chain observability, supporting over 40 days of stable training on cloud and fault recovery within 10 minutes. It delivers 20% higher token throughput than the previous generation, making AI training more efficient and reliable. The service will be commercially available in China on September 30 and in international markets on November 30. Complementing AICS is the Context Memory Storage (CMS) solution, which provides petabyte-scale memory space with twice the storage capacity of comparable products and supports high-speed terabyte-scale memory reads with 50% higher performance. These infrastructure advancements are critical as AI models grow in complexity and agents require robust, scalable resources to operate effectively in production environments.
The Agentic Model as a Service (MaaS) platform brings together diverse models, enabling developers to invoke state-of-the-art models from leading providers with just one click and no deployment required. At the event, MiniMax demonstrated its advanced multimodal model, which, combined with Huawei Cloud, delivers open, cutting-edge multimodal capabilities. This platform approach lowers the barrier to entry for enterprises looking to leverage the latest AI models without the overhead of managing complex deployments.
Huawei Cloud is also advancing its enterprise-grade agent platform through a dual commercial and open-source approach. Built on AgentArts and its open-source edition openJiuwen, the platform offers more than 5,000 general Model Context Protocol (MCP) assets and over 1,000 industry-specific MCP assets. This makes it easier for enterprises to develop, use, and manage agents. The platform has already served over 100 customers, including the Shenzhen Longgang District Government, China Southern Power Grid, and Kingsoft Office. Kingsoft Office shared its implementation practices, having built vertical office agents integrated with WPS 365 and WPS Comate. AgentArts will be commercially available outside China on December 30, and the openJiuwen community has surpassed 50,000 stars and 3.29 million downloads. Partner commercial editions with Chinasoft International, iSoftStone Group, and Beiming Software further expand the ecosystem.
The Industry AI Foundry represents another pillar of Huawei Cloud's strategy, aggregating industry scenarios, models, data, knowledge, and agents to turn isolated project experience into reusable capabilities. It now includes five industry-specific zones—Smart Healthcare, Embodied AI, AI for Science, Smart Manufacturing, and Smart Finance—with over 1,000 industry-specific assets and more than 1,000 deployed projects. Two new zones, Smart Government and AI Hardware, have been launched. The Smart Government Zone has 24 founding partners covering government operations, public services, and urban governance. The AI Hardware Zone has 15 core partners and covers over 20 device types, including AI glasses and AI toys. These efforts aim to accelerate AI adoption at scale across industries. The implications of these announcements are significant. By providing open infrastructure, platforms, and industry ecosystems, Huawei Cloud is positioning itself as a key enabler of the agentic AI era. The focus on efficiency, scalability, and security addresses critical barriers to enterprise AI adoption. The commercial availability of these products in both China and international markets signals Huawei Cloud's ambition to compete globally in the rapidly evolving AI cloud market. As agents become more prevalent, the ability to develop, deploy, and manage them effectively will be a differentiator for enterprises, and Huawei Cloud's comprehensive suite aims to meet that need.
