Jeep Babes Club Partners with HAVEN to Collect Donations During Domestic Violence Awareness Month

The Jeep Babes Enthusiast Club Michigan Chapter is set to deliver a truckload of donations to HAVEN, Michigan’s largest shelter and advocacy agency for survivors of intimate partner violence and sexual assault, on Sunday, October 26, 2025. The event, which coincides with Domestic Violence Awareness Month, will see club members gather at Mugs Coffee & Grub in White Lake from 9:00 a.m. to noon to collect personal hygiene products, laundry baskets, and Meijer gift cards. At 12:30 p.m., a convoy of 50 Jeep vehicles will proceed to HAVEN Headquarters in Pontiac to present the collected items along with funds raised through the club’s annual Show and Shine charity event held on September 19 at Birch Run Speedway.

HAVEN provides comprehensive services to men, women, children, and even pets affected by domestic violence, regardless of location. Anne Mantha, Chief Philanthropy Officer at HAVEN, emphasized the critical need for community support, noting that while the overall number of reported domestic violence incidents in Michigan has declined in recent years, the cases have become more lethal. According to Michigan State Police data cited by HAVEN, 68,000 intimate partner violence incidents were reported in 2023, and between 2010 and 2022, fatalities rose even as reports decreased. Lifetime prevalence rates indicate that a significant portion of Michigan’s adult population has experienced intimate partner violence, with women disproportionately affected, and members of the LGBTQ+ community also reporting high levels of abuse.

Jaime Matthews, President of the Jeep Babes Enthusiast Club Michigan Chapter, stated that the club is proud to support HAVEN’s mission. The donation drive and financial contribution aim to provide essential resources for survivors seeking safety and stability. The Jeep Babes have a history of charitable work, and this partnership underscores the importance of community involvement in addressing domestic violence. The event highlights the ongoing need for support during Domestic Violence Awareness Month and serves as a reminder that even as awareness grows, the severity of incidents demands continued vigilance and resource allocation. The Jeep Babes’ contribution, including items and funds, will directly aid HAVEN’s work in providing shelter, advocacy, and services to those affected by intimate partner violence in Michigan.
