Jenner Law Awards 2026 Make a Difference Scholarship to Bella Ramirez

Jenner Law has announced Bella Ramirez as one of its 2026 Make a Difference Scholarship winners, highlighting the firm's commitment to supporting students who combine academic excellence with a dedication to community service. Ramirez, a first-year student at Cardozo School of Law in New York City, brings a strong background in advocacy that began in her teenage years.

Originally from South Florida, Ramirez graduated cum laude from Boston University in 2025. Her early activism was sparked by tragedy: during her freshman year of high school, a neighboring school experienced a shooting that left 17 people dead. In response, Ramirez organized a county-wide rally and helped register hundreds of voters, demonstrating an early willingness to mobilize communities around pressing social issues.

Initially pursuing a career in journalism, Ramirez interned in the Investigations Department of NBC News, where she contributed to uncovering federal student aid fraud. However, she soon realized that she wanted to be more directly involved in fighting for positive change, leading her to shift her focus to law school. That decision reflects a growing trend among young advocates who see legal training as a powerful tool for systemic reform.

At Cardozo, Ramirez is deeply engaged in community and professional activities. She is part of the Gates Scholar Program for first-generation students and the Public Service Scholars Program, and she holds memberships in the American Constitution Society and the Public Interest Law Students Association. Additionally, she serves as a 1L representative for the Latin American Law Students Association and as a senator on the Student Bar Association. She is also in training with the Unemployment Action Center, which helps unemployed individuals secure necessary benefits.

The Make a Difference Scholarship is awarded to academically excelling students who are focused on making a real difference in their communities and the world. By selecting Ramirez, Jenner Law underscores its belief in the power of positive action and supports the next generation of leaders who are committed to social justice. The scholarship not only provides financial assistance but also validates the importance of community-driven advocacy in shaping a more equitable society.

Jenner Law, a firm that has been helping injury victims and their families since 2017, is heavily involved in community initiatives. In addition to the scholarship, the firm runs the Jenner Law Donor Fund, which supports charitable organizations focused on issues such as animal welfare, civil rights, women's safety, healthcare, veterans, and food insecurity. The firm's legal team is known for taking on complex cases, including clergy abuse, therapist abuse, and nursing abuse, and for its trauma-informed approach to client care.
