Knight Stalker Records, the flagship music division of REACH FOR THE TOP MEDIA GROUP, has announced a series of developments that underscore the growing momentum of the Mainstream-Independent Movement across Ohio and beyond. The label welcomed two new artists to its roster: Zilkwulf of Cleveland, Ohio, and Chris Stark. Both additions reflect the label's dedication to supporting independent voices that prioritize artistic vision over industry conventions.
Zilkwulf brings a unique talent and dedication that the label describes as a natural fit for the movement it is building. Chris Stark's passion for music and commitment to independent artistry similarly positions him as a strong addition to the Knight Stalker Records family. These signings signal the label's intent to cultivate a diverse community of artists who operate outside traditional industry structures.
As part of its commitment to Ohio's independent music scene, Knight Stalker Records spotlighted Black Sasquatch, an underground force from South-Eastern Ohio. Formed in 2018 when longtime friends Bub Hiestand, Ted Wilson, and Patrick Pryor reunited after a 15-year break, the band transformed an abandoned trailer into a DIY studio. Their debut EP, The Triangle, launched INC Records and established a raw, self-built identity. Through the pandemic, Black Sasquatch continued performing across Ohio, later releasing the ambitious Believe EP in 2022. In 2023, guitarist Theodore Charles Hall joined, helping to shape the award-winning, Doom-flavored Sighting EP, released in 2025. The lineup fully locked in with second guitarist Greg "Gregzilla" Combs in 2026, followed by their high-energy full-length Live '25.
Black Sasquatch delivers a distinctive blend of rock, punk, and metal they call "Squatch-Rock"—a sound rooted in grit, loyalty, and Ohio's independent spirit. Their journey exemplifies the do-it-yourself ethos that Knight Stalker Records champions. Looking ahead, Knight Stalker Records has officially begun booking efforts for the upcoming Culture Shock (US) 2027 Tour. Additional announcements and tour dates will be released as plans move forward. This tour represents a significant opportunity for the label's artists to reach wider audiences and further the movement's reach.
The implications of these announcements extend beyond individual signings. They demonstrate that independent music infrastructure in regions like Ohio is maturing, offering artists resources, exposure, and a community built on authenticity and collaboration. As the movement continues to grow, the label's mission remains unchanged: to create opportunities, build lasting partnerships, and support artists who refuse to be defined by industry limitations.
"This isn't an industry to us. It's a movement. Industries chase trends. Movements create change. We're here to do the latter, and we're not going anywhere," the label stated. That philosophy, paired with a growing roster and a major tour on the horizon, positions Knight Stalker Records as a notable force in the independent music landscape. For artists and fans alike, it signals that the mainstream-independent divide is increasingly irrelevant—what matters is the music and the community built around it.
