LataMed AI Corp. (OTC: LMED) announced Wednesday that its Venezuelan subsidiary has entered into a memorandum of understanding with pharmacy chain FARMASER to develop a customized artificial intelligence and automation platform. The collaboration aims to support FARMASER's current operations and planned expansion across Venezuela.
Under the agreement, the parties will work together to design, adapt, test, and evaluate a software platform tailored to FARMASER's operational requirements. The platform is intended to handle e-commerce, prescription management, customer service, inventory planning, and business analytics. Additionally, LataMed AI will evaluate integrating its CardioAI, PulmoAI, and NeuroAI technologies across FARMASER's three existing locations and up to 15 planned new pharmacies. These AI models are designed to assist with cardiovascular, pulmonary, and neurological health information and related digital health services, subject to regulatory approvals and clinical protocols.
LataMed AI CEO Dr. Kevin Rodan Levy emphasized the importance of pharmacies in the healthcare ecosystem. "Pharmacies play a central role in connecting patients with medications, healthcare products, and related services. Our objective is to work with FARMASER to develop a platform that supports its current operations and planned expansion while evaluating the integration of our AI-supported healthcare technologies," he said.
The proposed platform represents an enterprise application of LataMed AI's technology beyond its patient-facing telemedicine services. The company intends to create technology infrastructure that could be adapted for other healthcare organizations across Latin America. The parties are also evaluating an annual software licensing or subscription model for commercial implementation, though the scope, timing, and pricing have not been finalized.
Management believes the collaboration aligns with LataMed AI's broader strategy of developing an integrated healthcare ecosystem connecting patients, healthcare professionals, pharmacies, insurers, and payment providers. However, the memorandum of understanding does not guarantee successful completion or commercial deployment. The integration of AI technologies, opening of additional locations, or generation of revenue remain subject to development, testing, regulatory requirements, and definitive agreements.
