MAX Power Mining Corp. The transaction involves 11 million Homeland shares valued at approximately $1.1 million, giving MAX Power just under 50% of Homeland's outstanding shares. This strategic divestiture allows MAX Power to concentrate resources on advancing its Natural Hydrogen initiatives, particularly the Lawson Natural Hydrogen Complex and the broader Genesis Trend in Saskatchewan.
The company stated that the sale preserves potential upside from lithium and other critical mineral opportunities through its equity stake in Homeland, while freeing up capital and technical expertise for hydrogen exploration. The Willcox Playa project, which saw a diamond drilling discovery in 2024, will be developed by Homeland. The transaction is expected to close on or about June 17, 2026, subject to customary conditions and regulatory approvals, including any required approval from the Canadian Securities Exchange.
MAX Power's shift reflects the growing interest in natural hydrogen as a clean energy source. The company's Lawson Discovery near Central Butte, Saskatchewan, represents Canada's first confirmed subsurface natural hydrogen system, validated by three independent labs. MAX Power has built a dominant land position across Saskatchewan with approximately 1.3 million acres (521,000 hectares) of permits prospective for large-volume hydrogen accumulations. The company also retains a portfolio of critical mineral properties in the U.S. and Canada.
