MEDICLIN Posts Higher Nine-Month Operating Result and EBIT, Confirms Full-Year Forecast

MEDICLIN Aktiengesellschaft reported a group operating result of EUR 585.9 million for the first nine months of 2026, up EUR 22.9 million or 4.1 per cent from EUR 563.0 million in the same period last year. Consolidated EBIT rose by EUR 3.8 million to EUR 52.7 million, compared with EUR 48.9 million previously. The company treated 82,265 patients in the period, slightly above the 81,564 patients treated a year earlier.

CFO Tino Fritz attributed the performance to the resilience of the company’s business model. “The business performance in the first nine months of 2026 confirms the robustness of our business model in a market environment that remains challenging,” he said, adding that MEDICLIN is consistently pursuing its strategy and consolidating operational performance to meet its full-year forecast.

The Post-Acute segment, MEDICLIN’s largest, lifted operating result by 3.5 per cent to EUR 399.6 million. However, higher staff costs and expenses pushed segment EBIT down 5.9 per cent to EUR 44.8 million. The staff cost ratio rose to 53.9 per cent from 52.0 per cent, reflecting standard pay rises and a higher number of employees. In the Acute segment, operating result grew 6.0 per cent to EUR 168.3 million, and EBIT improved to EUR 3.1 million from EUR 0.7 million, despite an increase in the cost of materials ratio to 31.4 per cent.

The Care segment reported an operating result of EUR 18.1 million, marginally below the prior-year figure, while EBIT turned positive at EUR 0.6 million. The Service segment contributed EUR 103.6 million in other income and EBIT of EUR 4.2 million, up EUR 3.2 million.

For the full year, the Executive Board continues to expect group operating result growth of between 3.5 per cent and 6.5 per cent, and consolidated EBIT of between EUR 57.0 million and EUR 72.0 million. The confirmation signals management confidence in the company’s ability to navigate persistent cost pressures and a difficult operating environment. The interim report as at 30 September 2026 is available in German and English at www.mediclin.de.
