Meeder Investment Management has appointed Peeyush Shukla, CFA, FRM, as Chief Data, AI and Technology Officer, a newly created leadership role focused on advancing the firm's enterprise data, artificial intelligence and technology strategy. The appointment, announced October 13, 2026, marks the first time a technology expert will serve as a member of the firm's Leadership Team, underscoring Meeder's continued investment in technology, data and innovation.
The elevation of the role reflects Meeder's efforts to position its infrastructure and capabilities to support continued growth and an evolving investment management landscape. "Technology and data are increasingly important to how we operate, serve our clients and position Meeder for the future," said Bob Meeder, President and Chief Executive Officer. "The addition of Peeyush to our Leadership Team represents an important investment in the future of our firm. He brings a rare combination of investment management experience, technology leadership and an understanding of how data and AI can create meaningful business value. We are excited to have him leading these efforts across Meeder."
As Chief Data, AI and Technology Officer, Shukla leads Meeder's data and technology strategy, including the continued development of enterprise platforms and artificial intelligence initiatives. His role brings together technology modernization, data capabilities and emerging technologies to support the firm's long-term strategic objectives.
Shukla brings more than two decades of experience leading enterprise transformation across investment management and financial services. His career includes senior leadership positions that spanned enterprise data management, analytics, artificial intelligence, investment platforms, technology architecture and operational modernization. Prior to joining Meeder, he served as Head of Data, AI, and Technology at Heitman, where he modernized its global technology architecture, streamlined investment operating platforms, and established enterprise data management, analytics, and AI capabilities. Previously, as Managing Director of Multi-Asset Technology, Data and Analytics at Nuveen, he led technology and data initiatives to streamline and optimize investment platforms, and helped establish enterprise data science and AI capabilities.
"Meeder has a strong foundation, an entrepreneurial culture and a clear commitment to investing in its future," Shukla said. "There is tremendous opportunity to bring together data, AI and technology in ways that make our teams more effective, strengthen our capabilities and ultimately enhance how we serve our clients. I am excited to work across the organization to build on Meeder's momentum and help shape the next generation of our technology and data capabilities."
Shukla holds an MBA with distinction, with majors in Finance and Strategy, from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management and a master's degree in Computer Science from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder and Certified Financial Risk Manager. His professional involvement includes serving as Vice Chairman of CFA Society Chicago.
The appointment carries significant implications for Meeder and the broader investment management industry. By placing a technology leader on the executive team, Meeder signals that data and AI are no longer back-office functions but central to strategic decision-making. For clients, this could translate into more sophisticated investment solutions, improved operational efficiency, and enhanced personalized service. For the industry, Meeder's move may pressure competitors to similarly elevate technology leadership, accelerating the adoption of AI and data-driven practices across asset management.
