International entrepreneur and humanitarian Morad Shaker has chosen Cheyenne, Wyoming, as the U.S. headquarters for his expanding network of nonprofit organizations and global humanitarian initiatives. This decision positions Wyoming at the center of his international work and marks a significant personal transition after nearly three decades in Hawaii. Shaker spent the last eight months in Asia engaged in international work before returning to the United States to establish his new base in Cheyenne.
Shaker's headquarters will coordinate the activities of multiple organizations within his network, which are now registered or headquartered in Wyoming. 'Hawaii will always remain an important part of my life and history. Today, Wyoming is home. We will serve Wyoming, and from Wyoming, we will serve the world,' Shaker said.
At the heart of this initiative is the Shaker Global Poverty Reduction Ecosystem, which Shaker describes as the largest undertaking of his life. Years in development, the ecosystem aims to create pathways toward long-term financial stability and economic opportunity for qualified participants. Originally slated to launch in Bangladesh under Operation Bangladesh, the initiative faced challenges that delayed its implementation. Instead of retreating, Shaker expanded its international direction, and the ecosystem is now moving toward phased activity across 2026 and 2027, with people in an estimated 30 or more countries expected to participate.
'The circumstances changed, but the mission did not. What was intended to begin in one country has evolved into an opportunity for many nations,' Shaker said. The initiative's progress can be followed through the Shaker Global Poverty Reduction Ecosystem.
The origin of this movement lies in Operation Bangladesh, which also gave rise to Operation Bangladesh - Phoenix Passage, an emerging international youth movement designed to engage a new generation across more than 30 countries in opportunity, leadership, integrity, service, and responsibility. These initiatives are part of the broader Shaker Global Network, which connects Shaker's U.S. nonprofit organizations and international humanitarian efforts, including poverty reduction, humanitarian service, youth engagement, educational opportunity, animal protection, integrity and anti-corruption, emergency response, and recognition of service.
Shaker's commitment to Wyoming includes a direct allocation of 50,000 opportunities for qualified people in the state to participate in the Global Poverty Reduction Ecosystem. This allocation ensures Wyoming has a defined place within the developing international initiative, with participation subject to eligibility, verification, integrity, legal, and implementation requirements. 'If Wyoming is going to be our home, I want Wyoming to share meaningfully in what we build. I don't want Wyoming simply to be the address of our headquarters. I want its people to have a place in our future,' Shaker stated.
This move signals a new era of international implementation for Shaker's organizations. His intention is to build a lasting institutional presence in Wyoming while continuing to develop initiatives whose reach extends far beyond state borders.
