MS Tech Ltd., a global developer of nanotechnology, IoT, and big-data sensors, announced that its Homeland Security & Defense Division, MS Detection, has completed multiple deliveries and installations of its EXPLOSCAN, DUOSCAN, and THREATSCAN explosives and narcotics detection systems at critical infrastructure sites across the United States and Southeast Asia. The deployments signal a rising demand for advanced trace detection technologies as security challenges intensify and the need to protect critical infrastructure grows, now extending to oil and gas refineries and other multinational high-security facilities.
The announcement matters because it highlights a shift in how high-threat facilities are approaching security screening. MS Tech’s systems are built on the company’s patented High-Frequency Quartz Crystal Microbalance (HF-QCM) nanotechnology sensors, which are non-radioactive. According to CEO Doron Shalom, customers are increasingly interested in replacing legacy radioactive detection systems with non-radioactive alternatives. “These latest deployments reflect the growing demand for reliable, high-performance explosives detection technologies at critical infrastructure sites,” Shalom said. “Our HF-QCM sensor technologies enable customers to strengthen security screening while improving operational efficiency.”
The product portfolio includes EXPLOSCAN, DUOSCAN, LIQUISCAN, MULTISCAN, and THREATSCAN. The EXPLOSCAN, DUOSCAN, MULTISCAN, and THREATSCAN detect explosive and narcotics traces and vapors, while LIQUISCAN is designed for liquid explosives detection. All products feature self-calibrating and self-cleaning capabilities, aiming to provide high sensitivity and operational availability. The HF-QCM sensors are non-radioactive, creating a greener and safer working environment—a factor that could influence procurement decisions at facilities seeking to reduce regulatory and safety burdens associated with radioactive sources.
The systems are intended for aviation and transportation security, high-threat facilities and infrastructures, military, customs and border control, mail inspection, and cargo screening. They are operational across a wide temperature spectrum and can withstand harsh environmental conditions, including dust and humidity, which is critical for deployment in diverse geographic regions such as Southeast Asia and various U.S. climate zones. These installations underscore MS Tech’s ongoing global deployment efforts across airports, air cargo, border control, law enforcement agencies, and critical infrastructure sites.
