NeuroOne Medical Technologies Corporation (Nasdaq: NMTC) has released a white paper titled "StereoCED™ - A Scalable Platform for CNS Drug Delivery," highlighting how the company's investigational drug delivery platform aims to overcome key barriers to commercializing brain therapeutics. The white paper, available for download from the Scientific Resources section of nmtc1.com, details how advances in cell and gene therapies and biologics are driving demand for efficient methods to deliver therapies directly to the brain.
Convection-enhanced delivery (CED) has shown promise in bypassing the blood-brain barrier for targeted drug distribution, but current approaches may present challenges as therapies move toward broader commercial use. The StereoCED™ platform is being designed to leverage robotic stereotactic systems already common in neurosurgical operating rooms, aiming to support simultaneous, multi-trajectory intracranial drug delivery through a streamlined robotic workflow. This could potentially reduce procedure time and enable reproducible, scalable delivery.

"As these therapies move toward commercialization, certain intracranial infusion procedures lasting 8 to 12 hours may become a significant bottleneck to commercial adoption. The StereoCED™ platform is currently under development and has not been cleared or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for commercialization. NeuroOne expects device availability for research and investigational clinical studies by fiscal year-end. The company is also engaged in research and development for basivertebral nerve ablation and spinal cord stimulation programs.
The white paper underscores NeuroOne's focus on addressing scalability issues that could hinder the adoption of brain-delivered therapeutics. By integrating with existing robotic systems, the platform aims to fit into standard neurosurgical workflows without requiring specialized training or equipment.
