New York CityPASS Adds Edge and Whitney, Lowers Price to $149

City Pass, Inc. has announced a significant overhaul of its New York CityPASS® program, introducing a fully flexible ticket format that allows visitors to choose any five attractions from a curated list of ten premier New York experiences. The update, which takes effect immediately, adds two major attractions—Edge Observation Deck & Immersive Experience and the Whitney Museum of American Art—and reduces the ticket price. Adult pricing drops from $164 to $149, while child pricing falls from $136 to $129. The company says advertised savings can now reach as much as 51% off combined admission prices.

The shift to a fully flexible model marks a departure from the previous fixed package, giving travelers more control over their itinerary. “These updates give travelers more control over how they experience New York,” said Megan Allen, president and CEO of City Pass, Inc. “By moving to a fully flexible format, adding new attractions and lowering the ticket price, New York CityPASS® tickets offer even greater value and make it easier than ever for visitors to build the New York experience that’s right for them, whether they’re drawn to breathtaking views, world-class art, iconic landmarks or cultural institutions.”

The expanded lineup now includes the Empire State Building Observation Deck, American Museum of Natural History, Top of the Rock® Observation Deck, 9/11 Memorial & Museum, Statue of Liberty Grounds and Ellis Island Official Ferry, Circle Line Sightseeing Cruises, Intrepid Museum, Guggenheim Museum, Edge Observation Deck & Immersive Experience, and Whitney Museum of American Art. Among the new additions, Edge brings one of the city’s most dramatic attractions to the program. Located at Hudson Yards, Edge is the highest indoor and outdoor sky deck in the Western Hemisphere, suspended more than 1,100 feet above Manhattan. Visitors can step onto the glass floor, lean out over the city from angled glass walls, relax in the Skyline Seats, and enjoy sweeping 360-degree views that stretch across the five boroughs and beyond.

Edge has recently undergone a major indoor transformation, evolving beyond a traditional observation deck into a fully immersive, multi-sensory attraction. New permanent installations surround guests with light, color, reflection and motion from arrival through their ascent to the sky deck, creating an ever-changing experience that shifts throughout the day and across the seasons. Highlights include NYC’s largest kaleidoscope, the Pulse infinity room with 450 glowing orbs, 260 spinning mirrors in the Reflections light show, and a canopy of giant colorful crystals in the Crystal Cave. Edge also features reimagined hospitality and food offerings by Tao Group Hospitality, with culinary experiences and events year-round.

For visitors seeking culture and creativity, the Whitney Museum of American Art offers an essential introduction to American artistic innovation. Located in Manhattan’s vibrant Meatpacking District, the museum is renowned for its collection of 20th- and 21st-century American art, featuring works by many of the nation’s most influential artists, including Edward Hopper, Georgia O’Keeffe and Andy Warhol. Highlights include Hopper’s Early Sunday Morning, O’Keeffe’s Summer Days and Warhol’s Green Coca-Cola Bottles. Beyond its collection, the Whitney presents cutting-edge exhibitions by some of today’s most celebrated contemporary artists and features expansive outdoor terraces overlooking the Hudson River and the High Line, creating a uniquely New York museum experience.

New York CityPASS tickets remain valid for nine consecutive days from first use, allowing travelers to explore at their own pace. Digital tickets are emailed and linked to the My CityPASS® app, which simplifies sightseeing by giving travelers easy access to tickets, the ability to make and change reservations, attraction details, directions, and entry instructions for each included attraction. As a convenient all-in-one travel companion, the app also provides helpful notifications, special offers and trip-planning information throughout the visit. For more information, visit citypass.com.

The changes come as CityPASS celebrates nearly 30 years of operation. The company reports that its tickets are available in 17 North American destinations and have served more than 30 million travelers, earning more than 88,000 customer reviews with an average rating of 4.6 out of 5 stars. With the travel industry continuing to recover and compete for visitors’ discretionary spending, the combination of lower prices, greater flexibility and new marquee attractions could strengthen New York CityPASS’s position as a leading sightseeing pass. Prices and programs are subject to change.
