Stand-up comedian Nick Simmons will headline three shows at The Laugh Factory in San Diego on March 13 and March 14, bringing his high-energy storytelling and sharp self-aware humor to one of the city’s most popular comedy venues. Simmons, a Bronx-born comedian who built his early career in New York City before relocating to Austin, has quickly become one of the fastest rising performers on the national stand-up circuit.
Known for blending sharp observations with self-deprecating humor, Simmons draws on his unique life experiences to connect with audiences across the country. While developing his craft in New York, Simmons became a regular performer at some of Manhattan’s most respected clubs including Comedy Cellar, NY Comedy Club, and The Stand. Since moving to Austin, he has continued building his audience while performing at venues such as The Comedy Mothership, The Vulcan, and The Sunset Strip. He is also the co-creator and star of ACTING-OFF, Austin’s first improv-based comedy show.
Simmons has also gained a strong following online through his viral “Natty or Not” comedy segments that blend stand-up style humor with the fitness world. The series has attracted millions of views and has been featured on Inside Edition while also leading to collaborations with entertainers including Nick Jonas and comedian Matt Rife. Despite his bodybuilder physique, Simmons’ comedy often flips the stereotype of the typical gym personality. His material leans into self-aware storytelling, cultural observations, and personal experiences growing up in the Bronx.
“San Diego is truly one of my favorite cities to perform in,” said Simmons. “Not only is it paradise with the beach and good food but they have legitimately my favorite comedy crowds in the country.
