Nicola Mining and Ocean Partners Commit $10 Million to Blue Lagoon's Dome Mountain Gold-Silver Project

Nicola Mining Inc. (NASDAQ: NICM) (TSX.V: NIM) (FSE: HLIA) and Ocean Partners UK Limited have each committed $5 million, totaling $10 million, in financing to Blue Lagoon Resources (CSE: BLLG). The funds are earmarked to support continued development and production ramp-up at Blue Lagoon's 100%-owned Dome Mountain Gold and Silver Project near Smithers, British Columbia, with a target production rate of 150 to 200 tonnes per day.

Nicola completed its investment through a private placement at $0.60 per share, acquiring 8,333,333 common shares. This builds on Nicola's previous $1 million investment in Blue Lagoon completed in January 2024. Ocean Partners has now committed a total of $8 million to Blue Lagoon. The financing strengthens the relationship among mine development, concentrate marketing, and milling infrastructure, with Nicola's wholly owned Merritt Mill expected to play an increasingly important role as Blue Lagoon advances production.

The Dome Mountain project is a high-grade gold and silver operation that has been the focus of development efforts to bring it into production. The additional capital will be used to enhance mining operations and infrastructure to achieve the targeted throughput. The collaboration between Nicola, Ocean Partners, and Blue Lagoon underscores a strategic alignment where each party brings complementary strengths: Nicola provides milling capacity and operational expertise, Ocean Partners offers concentrate marketing and offtake capabilities, and Blue Lagoon holds the mineral resource.

This investment is significant for the junior mining sector, as it demonstrates a growing trend of strategic partnerships and financing structures that de-risk project development. By securing funding from partners with vested interests in the project's success, Blue Lagoon can accelerate its path to production while mitigating some of the financial challenges typical for junior miners. For Nicola, the investment not only provides potential financial returns but also secures feed for its Merritt Mill, which is currently underutilized.

The Merritt Mill is a fully permitted processing facility capable of handling both gold and silver feed via gravity and flotation processes. It is located near Merritt, British Columbia, and has signed Mining and Milling Profit Share Agreements with high-grade gold projects. The mill's involvement in Blue Lagoon's production is expected to increase as the project ramps up, providing a steady source of ore for the mill and enhancing its operational efficiency.

Nicola Mining also owns 100% of the New Craigmont Project, a high-grade copper property covering 10,913 hectares adjacent to Highland Valley Copper, Canada's largest copper mine. Additionally, the company owns the Treasure Mountain Property, which includes 30 mineral claims and a mineral lease spanning over 2,200 hectares. These assets provide Nicola with a diverse portfolio of mineral properties in British Columbia.

The financing comes at a time when gold and silver prices have been relatively strong, making the Dome Mountain project more economically attractive. The partnership is expected to mitigate risks associated with project development, such as funding gaps and market access, by aligning the interests of all stakeholders.

This collaborative approach to financing is a positive signal for the mining industry, indicating that strategic investors are willing to support projects with strong fundamentals and clear pathways to production. The investment is expected to create value for all parties involved and contribute to the local economy in British Columbia.
