Novogenia AG Reports Mixed H1 2026 Results, Advances Strategic Growth Initiatives

Novogenia AG, an international healthcare company specializing in human genetics and personalized health products, has released its issuer report for the first half of 2026, revealing a nuanced financial picture that underscores both challenges and opportunities in the rapidly evolving personalized medicine sector. The Munich-based firm, formerly known as Darwin AG, reported consolidated revenue of EUR 25.7 million for H1 2026, a 7% decline from EUR 26.5 million in the prior-year period. This drop was largely attributed to reduced volumes in the pharmaceutical and medical device trading segment due to regulatory changes. However, the DNA analysis and personalized products segment—the company's core business—posted positive revenue growth, signaling resilience in its primary market.

CEO Dr. Daniel Wallerstorfer acknowledged that financial performance did not meet expectations across all areas, but highlighted encouraging year-on-year development in core operations and a significant reduction in the cost base. The company achieved approximately EUR 2.7 million in operating profit improvement through savings in materials, personnel, and other operating expenses. Despite this, EBIT improved only 4.1% to EUR -4.7 million, as prior-year one-time effects had boosted other operating income. Consolidated net income fell to EUR -2.1 million from EUR 2.0 million, mainly due to a significantly higher financial result in the previous year. With cash and cash equivalents of EUR 39.8 million as of June 30, 2026, down from EUR 71.9 million, Novogenia maintains a solid financial position to fund future development.

The company made notable strategic progress in H1 2026, laying the groundwork for international expansion. It expanded its collaboration with 10X Health Systems, advanced its joint product pipeline, and launched the enhanced Methylation Test MGT Plus in the U.S. market. In partnership with G42 in Abu Dhabi, Novogenia prepared for a Middle East market launch, including product adaptations and Halal certification. It also introduced the Multi-Cancer Check and a new software platform for its NovoDaily product line, while construction began on a new 9,300-square-meter company site in Hallwang near Salzburg, slated for completion in early 2028. The rebranding from Darwin AG to Novogenia AG, approved at the 2026 Annual General Meeting, was implemented in July 2026 to consolidate brand identity and enhance visibility with customers and investors.

Looking ahead, Novogenia will engage with investors and industry stakeholders at several conferences. Felix Bausch, CIO, will attend the 5th Zurich Investor Day on September 29, 2026, and the ODDO BHF Autumn Round Table on October 22, 2026. Dr. Wallerstorfer will present at the Abu Dhabi Future Health Summit from October 20–22, 2026, marking the company's first Middle East appearance, and both executives will participate in the Deutsches Eigenkapitalforum 2026 from November 23–25, 2026. These engagements are crucial for attracting investment and forging partnerships as Novogenia navigates platform algorithm changes affecting sales channels.
