Parent Coaching Institute's Trademark Renewed for Another Decade

The United States Trademark Office has granted renewal of the registered trademark Parent Coach Certification® to the Parent Coaching Institute (PCI), extending its protection for another ten years through 2035. Originally awarded in 2006 after an extensive investigation, the trademark underscores PCI's exclusive parent coach training program and its role as a global leader in the parent coaching industry.

Gloria DeGaetano, founder and CEO of PCI, expressed enthusiasm about the renewal, emphasizing the importance of rigorous standards in parent coach certification. "Since there are no parent coach training professional organizations monitoring the industry, we take Parent Coach Certification® training seriously. Parents deserve the best," she stated. PCI requires candidates to meet specific qualifications and undergo a thorough enrollment process to ensure certification of high-level professionals with proven backgrounds in family support. The training includes coaching techniques based on cutting-edge research and a nine-month practicum.

DeGaetano recently discussed her journey in building an international company on the Business Growth Spotlight podcast, sharing how she pioneered the parent coaching concept using evidence-based methodology. PCI Certified Parent Coaches® work with parents to foster awareness of new possibilities through a strength-based, inquiry-based framework that transforms parent-child relationships.

The Parent Coaching Institute is dedicated to expanding a global community of professionals supporting parents in challenging times. Its distance-learning graduate-level training program, offered in affiliation with Southern New Hampshire University, enrolls family support professionals through an application process. Applications are now being accepted for the 2026 Spring Term, beginning late February 2026, with a deadline of February 1, 2026. For more information, visit www.ThePCI.org.
