PoKeep has released a free Pokémon GO Evolution Calculator, giving players a way to project post-evolution CP and HP before they spend candy and stardust on a species they may never power up again. The page targets a practical planning moment: a catch looks promising, but it is unclear whether evolving it now—or investing more dust first—will produce a monster worth keeping.
Users pick a species, enter the current CP shown in the summary screen, and align the tool's Attack, Defense, and HP appraisal controls with what appears in-game. From those inputs, PoKeep estimates the Pokémon's level, then maps the same individual values onto the evolved form to display expected CP and HP at that stage. Unlike companion apps that ask for game credentials, PoKeep's calculator is web-only. Numbers are entered manually; nothing connects to a trainer's Pokémon GO account.
Key capabilities include formula-based estimates that draw on species base stats and the same CP relationship used in Pokémon GO, rather than rough tier lists or community spreadsheets alone. A dual-stage preview can show the pre-evolution and post-evolution Pokémon together, including sprites and stat readouts, so the outcome is easy to scan at a glance. Once a match is found, a level control lets users shift up or down and watch how current CP, evolved CP, and HP move in parallel—helpful when debating an extra power-up. The database includes standard evolution chains and Mega-eligible species where PoKeep lists a Mega target (for dual Mega lines such as Charizard or Mewtwo, the tool follows its documented primary Mega entry). The species picker accepts queries in English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese, which can speed up lookup on any regional PoKeep site. Regional pages (English, Japanese, and Traditional Chinese editions) share the same interaction model while using localized copy and imagery.
The typical workflow starts by opening the calculator and selecting the Pokémon intended to evolve, then typing in CP and setting the three IV bar values to mirror the appraisal screen. After running the calculation, users review the evolved stat preview, and if needed, drag the Level control to test 'evolve now' versus 'power up first.'
"Evolution is often irreversible, so the cost of guessing is real," a PoKeep spokesperson said. "We built this so trainers can sanity-check an evolve before the candy is gone—not as a replacement for playing, but as a quick planning step."
The calculator is accessible at the following URLs: English, Japanese, and Traditional Chinese. PoKeep also maintains a separate IV Calculator for deeper individual-value analysis.
