Powell Square Food Pavilion Expansion Enhances Gresham's Culinary Landscape

Powell Square Food Pavilion, a premier outdoor dining destination in Gresham, Oregon, is undergoing significant upgrades to better serve its community. Located at 393 W Powell Blvd., just blocks from Historic Downtown Gresham, the pavilion continues to attract food enthusiasts with its diverse vendor lineup and is now constructing a new all-steel seating structure to enhance the dining experience.

The pavilion currently hosts a variety of vendors, including Las Patronas Mexican Grill, which offers authentic Mexican cuisine such as tacos, burritos, and street snacks, and Spud Lyfe, known for its over-stuffed loaded baked potatoes with both classic and gourmet toppings. These vendors benefit from the pavilion's low-barrier entry, which provides dedicated electricity, water, and gas hookups, enabling local culinary entrepreneurs to thrive and directly supporting Gresham's small business community.

To accommodate more guests and provide comfort year-round, Powell Square is constructing a massive 20-by-80-foot all-steel seating structure, standing 17 feet high. This new facility will feature expanded seating for up to 65 guests, weather protection from the Pacific Northwest elements, and energy-efficient overhead LED lighting for evening ambiance. Construction is expected to be completed in September 2026, ensuring the pavilion remains an ideal spot for family dinners, casual dates, and quick lunches regardless of weather.

The pavilion is designed with accessibility in mind, offering free parking and full wheelchair accessibility. Its central location on West Powell Boulevard makes it a convenient stop for residents and workers seeking fast, fresh meals without the wait of traditional restaurants. This expansion underscores the pavilion's commitment to being a vital community hub where food lovers can experience a variety of cuisines in one place.

According to Powell Square Food Pavilion, the upgrades are part of an ongoing effort to enhance the culinary scene in Gresham. The addition of the covered seating structure is expected to significantly improve the guest experience, allowing the pavilion to operate more effectively throughout the year. With a growing roster of vendors and improved amenities, Powell Square Food Pavilion is poised to become an even more integral part of the local dining landscape.
