Verizon announced today that customers can preorder Samsung’s newest foldable smartphones—the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra—alongside the Galaxy Watch9 and Watch Ultra2, starting July 22. The devices are available through Verizon’s Simplicity Plan and My Biz Plan, reflecting the carrier’s strategy to reduce plan complexity and offer predictable pricing.
The Galaxy Z Fold8, priced at $1,899.99, and the Z Fold8 Ultra, at $2,099.99, feature large, immersive screens designed for multitasking and productivity. The new foldables come in colors like Lavender, Graphite, and Cream, with the Ultra model adding a Violet Shadow option. Verizon is positioning these devices as tools for busy professionals and entertainment seekers, leveraging its 5G network without tiered data restrictions.
New customers can get the Galaxy Z Fold8 (256GB) for $60 per month over 48 months, which includes the phone payment and a $30 monthly Simplicity Plan rate after discounts for auto-pay and paper-free billing and switching from another carrier. Verizon applies $460 in promotional credits to lower the device payment to $30 per month. Similarly, the Z Fold8 Ultra is available for $35 per month after a $420 promotional credit over 48 months, with the same plan requirements.
For existing customers upgrading, Verizon offers up to $1,100 off either foldable through trade-in credits when switching to an Unlimited Plus or Unlimited Ultimate plan over 36 months. The trade-in device must have been active on the account for at least 60 days. Additionally, new customers who bring their own Samsung phone or buy a new one on a payment plan can get the Ultimate Bundle: a Galaxy Watch9 and Galaxy Tab S10 FE at no extra hardware cost when adding service lines starting at $15 per month each.
Verizon also introduced a BYOD watch deal, offering the Galaxy Watch9 for free (after $430 credit over 36 months) or the Watch Ultra2 for as low as $8 per month when customers bring their own Android phone and activate a new line. Accessories for the Z Fold series are available with up to 30% savings when bundled.
The announcement underscores Verizon’s shift toward simpler, value-focused plans. The Simplicity Plan eliminates network tiers, offering unlimited data with domestic roaming at 2G speeds, and includes perks like a six-month subscription to Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ (With Ads) for buyers of the Z Fold8 or Z Fold8 Ultra. Verizon’s loyalty program, accessed via the My Verizon app, provides monthly cash back in Verizon Dollars and weekly chances to win experiences through Verizon Shine.
Preorders are available at Verizon stores, verizon.com, and the My Verizon app, with full retail availability on August 7. Business customers can get up to $900 off through trade-in offers on My Biz Plan.
