Someburros, the popular fast-casual Mexican restaurant chain, has announced three new Arizona locations, bringing its total to 20 restaurants statewide. The expansions, facilitated by Phoenix-based retail brokerage specialist Western Retail Advisors (WRA), include sites in Surprise, Peoria, and Maricopa. The latest announcement involves the acquisition of 1.21 acres at 42618 W. Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway in Maricopa, where a 3,519-square-foot restaurant will feature a main dining room, drive-thru, covered patio, and options for online ordering and third-party delivery. The new Someburros will anchor the Stonegate retail center, joining Home Depot and Starbucks.
Alberto Caballero and Dave Uhles of Western Retail Advisors represented Someburros in the Maricopa land acquisition, while Diversified Partners represented the seller. This is the third restaurant site WRA has helped Someburros secure this year. The other two locations include an outparcel within Sycamore Farms in Surprise, slated to open in the first quarter of 2026, and 1.15 acres within the Shops at Lake Pleasant in Peoria, expected to open in summer 2026. The Peoria location will be Someburros' second in the city.
“We are a proud Arizona-based, family owned company dedicated to providing a dining experience that feels like an extension of home,” said Tim Vasquez, owner and third-generation restaurateur of Someburros. “My very first job was suiting up as our mascot, and I’ve been committed to this company ever since. That includes maintaining the quality and affordability of our nanna’s recipes, and the community spirit that defines us – while also finding ways to thoughtfully expand.”
Someburros opened its first restaurant in Tempe, Arizona in 1986 and has since grown to 17 locations, all serving made-from-scratch Sonoran-style dishes based on family recipes. The company’s site selection process focuses on integrating into the neighborhood, whether in emerging or established areas. “Every new site is chosen with these aspirations in mind, aligning with the company’s desire to help strengthen the fabric of the communities it serves,” said Caballero.
The new announcements follow a June 2025 grand opening in Buckeye within SimonCRE’s Roosevelt Commons retail center. Additionally, Someburros has signed agreements with the Arizona Cardinals and Arizona Diamondbacks to open locations at State Farm Stadium and Chase Field. “In recent years, we’ve moved from opening one new location every three or so years to now opening one or two locations every year,” said Vasquez. “It is an exciting time for our family, and we are grateful for all those who have helped us succeed in this effort.”
Western Retail Advisors, a full-service commercial real estate brokerage firm specializing in retail, represented Someburros in these transactions.
