Subject2 Game Launches to Advocate for Appraisers with UAD 3.6 Training and Cruise Prize

Emboss LLC has announced that its new game, Subject2, will launch its first official season on November 2, 2026, offering appraisers a free daily challenge centered on the new UAD 3.6 rules. The game, described as “The Daily Game for Busy Appraisers,” aims to simulate real appraisal orders and questions, with a points system that incorporates relative dollar values and costs to reflect business realities. Players can compete for a chance to win a Caribbean cruise for two or a spot on the national Top 100 Appraisers in America leaderboard.

The launch matters because it brings attention to the financial pressures facing residential appraisers, who have not seen meaningful pay increases in over two decades despite carrying substantial risk in transactions. Founder Brandon Selfors says the game is intended to challenge how software is often imposed on appraisers rather than built around them. “Subject2 is my way of slowing down the industry and asking people to pause and empathize with what appraisers go through,” Selfors said. “The industry is struggling. Appraisers haven't seen meaningful pay increases in more than two decades, yet they carry a substantial share of the risk in the transaction. Something isn't right. Senior appraisers owe it to the next generation to stand up for the profession.”

Subject2 is designed to be accessible, with gameplay taking less than five minutes a day on a desktop computer or phone. Players receive two orders each weekday and can claim one additional free order between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. local time. Registration is required, and participants must hold an active appraiser license or trainee registration to win. Preseason practice is available now, but preseason scores do not count toward the season prize. Season 1 runs from November 2, 2026, through January 3, 2027, and a player's three best weeks out of nine count toward the season score, allowing flexibility for those who miss a week or start late. Players who join by December 14 still get three full weeks of scoring toward the grand prize.

The game is part of Emboss's broader commitment to building technology around appraisers' needs. The company is also developing GUNTER, an appraisal management platform designed to support independent appraisers and select AMC clients. The grand prize winner can choose a Caribbean cruise for two, a similar vacation package, or a cash prize, funded by Emboss LLC. No purchase is necessary to play or win, and an optional paid season pass is available for additional practice but does not improve a player's chances of winning. Eligibility requirements and restrictions apply.

For those interested in participating, the game can be accessed at https://play.gunterschain.com, and official rules are available at https://play.gunterschain.com/rules. The privacy policy is also provided at https://play.gunterschain.com/privacy. Subject2 is an independent practice game developed by Emboss LLC and is not affiliated with or endorsed by The Appraisal Foundation, the government-sponsored enterprises, or any agency. It is not continuing education credit or a course.
