TES (SZSE: 003019.SZ), a leading provider of touch display solutions, has officially inaugurated and put into operation Phase I of its manufacturing base in Rayong Province, Thailand. The $24 million initial investment marks a significant expansion of TES's manufacturing footprint in Southeast Asia and signals a new stage in its global strategic layout. The move is important because it directly addresses the growing need for supply chain diversification and trade risk mitigation among global OEM and ODM customers.
At the inauguration ceremony, TES Chairman Kevin Lee emphasized that the Rayong plant represents the full implementation of the company's global 'Dual-Core Smart Manufacturing' strategy, with dual bases in China and Thailand. He noted that the facility will produce interactive smart displays, interactive all-in-one PCs, and smart automotive displays, expected to generate tens of millions of US dollars in production value for the local economy. The strategic value for customers lies in higher supply chain resilience and more flexible delivery capabilities, helping them navigate an increasingly complex global trade environment.
The Rayong plant, TES's largest single manufacturing base in Southeast Asia to date, covers 42,399 m² with a building area of 26,630 m² and room for future expansion. Phase I includes production facilities, administrative offices, and employee support facilities, with a current workforce of approximately 300 employees. Monthly planned capacity is substantial: 65,000 units of 7–55" touch monitors and all-in-one PCs, 300,000 SMT-related products, 120,000 sets of automotive touch display modules, 120,000 units of automotive optical bonding products, and 30,000 automotive assembly units. The company plans to add an additional assembly line and two bonding lines to meet medium-to-large batch OEM and ODM orders.
The location within the WHA Industrial Estate in Thailand's Eastern Economic Corridor offers significant logistical advantages, being about 1.5 hours from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport and 1 hour from Laem Chabang Deep Sea Port. The plant has received Investment Promotion Privileges (BOI) certification from the Thai government. These factors combine to enhance operational stability and policy support, ensuring superior quality and on-time delivery. For global customers, the Rayong base provides flexible options for country of origin, helping them adapt to changing trade environments, optimize tariff structures, and mitigate single-region trade risks. Through cross-regional multi-base synergy, TES establishes a capacity redundancy framework to buffer against regional supply chain fluctuations.
The Rayong plant fully implements TES's globally unified quality management system, enforcing standardized control from supplier management to final outgoing inspection. This commitment ensures that all global products adhere to consistent high-quality standards, reinforcing customer trust. As a leading global supplier of intelligent touch display devices with 30 years of experience, TES continues to optimize its global manufacturing layout to deliver enhanced capacity, superior service, and competitive cost structures.
