The Atlanta Cup Debuts Dec. 6 With Osaka, Sabalenka, Shelton and Kyrgios

The Atlanta Cup, a new professional tennis exhibition, will debut on Saturday, Dec. 6 at Gas South Arena, featuring four of the sport's most prominent stars: four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka, current world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka, Atlanta native Ben Shelton, and 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios. The event aims to reestablish Atlanta as a premier tennis destination by bringing elite competition to the city for a one-night showcase.

In the women's matchup, Osaka and Sabalenka will face off for the first time in Atlanta. Both players have won four Grand Slam titles, and their rivalry is characterized by power and contrasting styles. Sabalenka, the back-to-back US Open champion, is the first world No. 1 to compete in Atlanta since Lindsay Davenport in 1997. The men's match will feature Shelton, ranked world No. 6 and one of the fastest-rising stars in tennis, against Kyrgios, known for his explosive shotmaking and on-court personality. This will be their first professional meeting.

The Atlanta Cup is produced in partnership with the United States Tennis Association (USTA) and the Atlanta Lawn Tennis Association (ALTA), which, founded in 1934, is the largest community tennis league in the nation. USTA Atlanta is also one of the largest community tennis associations in the country. The event organizers aim to create an annual signature tennis showcase that celebrates Atlanta's deep tennis legacy, which previously included the Atlanta Open on the ATP Tour for 14 years through 2024.

According to Jason Dolan, founder of The Atlanta Cup, the exhibition brings together four of the world's most elite and beloved tennis stars. With over 100,000 active league players in ALTA and USTA, Atlanta is described as the heartbeat of American tennis participation. The event is designed to provide a marquee annual event that the city's tennis community deserves.

The Atlanta Cup begins at 6 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2025. Tickets are on sale now at ticketmaster.com starting Friday, Sept. 12 at 10 a.m. Fans can also visit theatlantacup.com and follow @TheAtlantaCup on Facebook, Instagram and X for updates. The event promises dynamic rallies, blistering serves, and plenty of on-court personality as these global stars compete in a high-energy format.
