Travelodge Hotels Asia has officially opened Travelodge Gangnam Yeoksam Seoul, its fifth hotel in South Korea and its largest property in Asia with 360 rooms. The fully renovated hotel, located in Seoul's vibrant Gangnam district, represents a significant milestone in the company's regional growth strategy and underscores the increasing demand for value-driven accommodation in one of Asia's most dynamic business and cultural hubs.
The opening matters because it strengthens Travelodge's footprint in a key market at a time when travel to South Korea is rebounding strongly. With 18 hotels currently operating across Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Thailand, and plans to exceed 50 properties by 2030, the company is positioning itself as a major player in Asia's mid-scale hotel sector. The Gangnam property, one of the few newly refreshed hotels in the area, offers a competitive edge by combining modern amenities with a prime location near COEX, Seolleung and Jeongneung Royal Tombs, and Bongeunsa Temple.
For business travelers, the hotel provides practical features such as a spacious co-working lounge, a fitness center, meeting facilities for up to 60 people, and a business center. Kevin Hayes, a business traveler from California who stayed four nights, praised the quick check-in, fast Wi-Fi, and comfortable bed. The property also caters to leisure guests with a variety of room types including Queen, Twin, Triple, Quadruple, and Accessible Rooms, making it suitable for solo travelers, couples, families, and groups.
Dining options include breakfast by BON Food Service, a Korean food-service operator, and a GS25 convenience store scheduled to open by the end of October. Additional facilities such as 43 parking spaces, self-service laundry, a currency exchange kiosk, and a 24-hour front desk add to the convenience. The hotel's location in Yeoksam offers easy access to Gangnam Station Shopping District, Garosu-gil, Apgujeong Rodeo, and Lotte World, which is about 30 minutes away by subway.
To celebrate the opening, the hotel launched the "Stay Gold in Gangnam" promotion, offering eligible guests who book directly from October 2026 to January 2027 a chance to win a 24K gold bar through the Fortune Wheel and enjoy a complimentary Hanbok experience. Members also benefit from Best Price Guarantee+, up to 5% cashback after their stay, and perks like Early Check-In and Late Check-Out. Travelers can Sign up for free to unlock these benefits.
Anthony Yoo, Hotel Manager of Travelodge Gangnam Yeoksam Seoul, said, "Gangnam has so much to offer, from business and shopping to local culture. We're excited to welcome guests to Travelodge Gangnam Yeoksam Seoul, offering a comfortable place to unwind and a stay they can trust while enjoying everything the city has to offer."
The launch of Travelodge Gangnam Yeoksam Seoul not only expands the brand's presence but also intensifies competition in Seoul's hospitality market, where international chains and local operators are vying for a share of the growing inbound travel segment. With its strategic location, comprehensive amenities, and attractive loyalty benefits, the hotel is well-positioned to capture both business and leisure demand, further solidifying Travelodge's ambition to become a leading hotel management and franchise company in Asia.
