Trollinger Law Opens Nominations for 2026 Hometown Heroes Award

Trollinger Law LLC, a personal injury and workers' compensation law firm in Waldorf, Maryland, has announced that nominations are now open for its annual Hometown Heroes Award. The award recognizes first responders in Charles County and throughout Southern Maryland for their dedication and service to the community. Nominations will be accepted starting today, with winners scheduled to be announced on October 5, 2026.

The contest is open to all local first responders, including paramedics, police officers, firefighters, emergency response teams, public safety providers, emergency hospital staff, military service members, and other emergency workers. Each winner will receive a $500 cash prize and four complimentary tickets to a luxury suite at a D.C. United game on October 24, where they will be celebrated alongside other honorees and Trollinger Law staff. Additionally, honorees will be recognized on the field during halftime.

Past recipients have included current and retired members of the Charles County Sheriff's Office, the Marine Corps, the Charles County Department of Emergency Medical Services, local police and fire departments, and volunteer rescue squads. This year’s award continues the firm’s tradition of expressing gratitude for the often-unseen efforts of those who protect and serve.

Matt Trollinger, founder of Trollinger Law, emphasized the importance of the award: "We started Hometown Heroes as a way to honor a group of people whose efforts to protect and serve others often happen behind the scenes, with no expectation of recognition. First responders help people and families during some of their darkest and most vulnerable hours. We're proud to express our appreciation for their courage and support."

The nomination process is straightforward, and questions can be directed to Dawn Williamson via email at dawn@trollingerlaw.com. The firm encourages community members to nominate deserving first responders who have made a difference.
