Ucore Rare Metals Inc. (TSX.V: UCU) (OTCQX: UURAF) has taken a significant step toward establishing a North American rare earth supply chain by signing a letter of intent with Critical Metals Corp. to secure up to 10,000 metric tons annually of heavy rare earth concentrate starting in 2027. This concentrate will feed Ucore’s Department of Defense–backed Strategic Metals Complex in Louisiana, leveraging the company’s proprietary RapidSX separation technology. The arrangement aims to reduce U.S. reliance on China for critical materials like dysprosium and terbium, which are vital for electric vehicles, wind turbines, and defense technologies.

The feedstock will come from Greenland’s Tanbreez Project, recognized as one of the world’s largest undeveloped rare earth resources. This agreement marks a pivotal move toward building a fully integrated, North American rare earth supply chain for technologies that will power the future and strengthen national security. As global demand for rare earths surges, the deal provides Ucore with a reliable and substantial source of heavy rare earth elements, which are essential for high-performance magnets used in clean energy and defense applications.
