UGI Utilities is scheduled to begin a system upgrade project on Monday, November 23, 2026, in Hanover Township, Lehigh County. The project involves the replacement of natural gas mains and is part of UGI's broader commitment to providing safe and reliable service to its customers.
The announcement matters because it signals the start of infrastructure work that can affect residents and businesses in the area, from potential traffic disruptions to planned service adjustments. For UGI, which serves more than 760,000 customers across its natural gas and electric operations, such upgrades are a key part of maintaining the integrity of its distribution network and reducing the risk of leaks or outages. The timing, set just before the Thanksgiving holiday, also means residents should stay informed about construction schedules and any temporary changes to their service.
