CALGARY, ALBERTA - Upside Gold Corp. (CSE: UG) (FWB: 47I) (OTCQB: UGODF) has released a progress update on its 10,115-hectare Kena Gold-Copper Property in southeastern British Columbia, highlighting results from an ongoing compilation of historic exploration data. The work has significantly advanced the understanding of the mineralized system and identified multiple priority drill targets for the 2026 program.
The compilation integrates decades of geological, geochemical, and geophysical data, outlining a mineralized trend extending at least seven kilometers along strike. This trend is associated with the Kena Deformation Zone, a major steeply dipping, southeast-trending fault zone that controls mineralization. The property hosts a historic mineral resource of 2.77 million inferred ounces of gold at an average grade of 0.486 g/t Au and 0.561 million indicated ounces at 0.544 g/t Au, according to a 2021 technical report by Moose Mountain Technical Services. However, the company notes that a qualified person has not done sufficient work to classify the historical estimate as current mineral resources.
A key outcome of the compilation was the systematic extraction of copper and silver data from historical drillhole analytical certificates, as over 90% of the 24,200 core samples had multi-element analyses but only gold results were previously recorded. The updated database now shows copper values up to 71,800 ppm (over 2,900 samples exceeding 500 ppm Cu) and silver values up to 145 ppm (over 2,650 samples exceeding 1 ppm Ag). These results occur within a drillhole database containing 6,300 samples grading greater than 0.25 g/t Au, with sample widths averaging 1.87 meters. The addition of copper and silver data is expected to demonstrate significant additional value within the project.
Geophysical surveys, including induced polarization (IP) surveys, have identified zones of high chargeability and low resistivity that support the definition of disseminated pyrite-hosted mineralization. These anomalies extend the known strike length of the Kena lode gold body from four kilometers to at least seven kilometers. Sporadic historic drilling outside the historic resource has returned wide intervals of gold and copper mineralization, including 117 meters of 0.22% Cu and 0.14 g/t Au, and 90 meters of 0.9 g/t Au in the adjacent South Gold Zone.
“This compilation work has significantly improved our understanding of the Kena mineralized system,” said Dr. Trevor Boyd, Vice President, Exploration of Upside Gold. “Integrating decades of exploration data into a modern 3D model is helping us identify areas where mineralization may extend beyond the historic resource and focus our 2026 drilling on the most promising expansion targets.”
The majority of first-priority drill targets for 2026 will focus on testing along strike to the southeast within the Kena Copper Zone, with the goal of defining a second major mineralized zone on the property. The southern half of the property, which has never been diamond drilled, also shows potential based on favorable geological, geochemical, and geophysical signatures.
The Kootenay region of southeastern British Columbia has been largely overlooked for gold and copper exploration, offering opportunities for new discoveries. Upside Gold Corp. is a Canadian exploration company focused on advancing the Kena Gold-Copper Project through systematic exploration and drilling programs.
