Vingroup Launches VERTA International School to Prepare Students for an AI-Driven World

Vingroup has announced the establishment of VERTA International School, a new K-12 educational model designed for a generation growing up in an era where artificial intelligence is reshaping how people learn, work, and create. The school, located at 148 Giang Vo, Hanoi, is scheduled to open in August 2027 with a maximum capacity of 800–1,000 students. Admissions for the first academic year begin in October 2026, welcoming approximately 400 students from Grades 1 to 11.

VERTA is positioned as a distinct education brand within Vingroup's expanding portfolio, which already includes Vinschool, Brighton College Vietnam, Vin Nexus Center, and VinUniversity. The launch reflects a strategic bet that traditional education models may not adequately prepare students for a future in which AI is ubiquitous. By integrating AI and advanced computing into the upper-grade curriculum, VERTA aims to develop not just consumers of technology but creators who can harness it to solve complex problems.

The school's philosophy rests on three principles: Learn, Make, Matter. Under Learn, students build strong academic foundations in mathematics, science, languages, social studies, and the arts, while being encouraged to think independently and learn through experience. In later grades, the curriculum expands to include AI and Advanced Computing, Engineering, Biomedical Science, Entrepreneurship, and Advanced Placement courses. Interdisciplinary learning is emphasized to help students connect knowledge across fields and approach problems from multiple perspectives.

Make focuses on turning understanding into capability. Students apply what they learn to create tangible outcomes that can be tested, challenged, and improved, moving from questions to ideas, design, and refinement. Matter encourages students to use their capabilities to address meaningful problems and create value, connecting learning with the real world through authentic data, experts, and real-world challenges. Vingroup's broader ecosystem—spanning higher education, research, healthcare, technology, industry, green mobility, and urban development—provides unique opportunities for such connections.

Ms. Phan Ha Thuy, Chairwoman of VS Company, the Vingroup entity developing VERTA, said: "VERTA aims to equip students with the strong academic foundations needed to pursue demanding university pathways, while developing their ability to conduct research, reason, design and turn ideas into tangible outcomes; use AI and technology to extend their thinking; and tackle problems without predefined solutions." She added that by graduation, students should be able to learn independently, form their own judgments, and take responsibility for their decisions.

The program will be taught in English following a U.S.-oriented approach. In early years, teachers take a more active role, gradually shifting to student-led learning as children mature. Dr. Tarek Razik, an international educator with over 35 years of experience, including leadership roles at Jakarta Intercultural School and the International School of Beijing, will lead VERTA. The international teaching team will be selected based on qualifications and experience aligned with the school's educational program.

VERTA's emphasis on academic depth, AI literacy, and real-world application offers a new option for Vietnamese families seeking an internationally oriented education, as well as for international families in Hanoi. As AI continues to transform industries, the school's success could signal a shift in how education systems worldwide adapt to prepare students for an uncertain future.
