VRM Companies Unveils Sculpture and Celebrates Rebirth of Ciudad Jardín Gurabo

VRM Companies will unveil the sculpture "A Orillas del Río" by Puerto Rican artist Luis Torruella on Thursday, June 18 at 5:30 p.m. at The River Village Club House in Ciudad Jardín Gurabo. The event celebrates the community's rebirth after years of abandonment and is expected to draw over 300 residents, along with Gurabo Mayor Vilmarie Peña, the artist, and VRM team members.

For nearly 15 years, Ciudad Jardín Gurabo suffered from deterioration, with neglected common areas, a vandalized golf clubhouse, and declining property values. In 2021, VRM Companies initiated a comprehensive transformation, acquiring and transferring ownership of the Golf Club House to the Master Association of Owners. The facility, now called The River Village, houses businesses serving residents. The company also built a new Racket Club with tennis, pickleball, and beach tennis, modernized the entrance booth, and rehabilitated common areas—all without imposing additional costs on existing residents.

The impact has been significant: the community grew from 519 families in 2021 to over 1,000 families today, with new resort-style homes in River Terrace, River View, and River Estates. Despite rising construction costs, these homes remain affordable for the middle class, with average prices between $300,000 and $400,000.

Rafael E. Rojo, President and CEO of VRM Companies, stated, "We believe that good development elevates a place for the benefit of an extended community. Today, Gurabo has a first-class destination that attracts commercial activity, strengthens the tax base, and projects progress."

The sculpture "A Orillas del Río" symbolizes Rescue, Resilience, and Rebirth, reflecting the community's journey. For more on VRM Companies, which has developed over 15,000 homes in 70 communities since 1976, visit VRM Companies.
