Wolfson Group Highlights Evolving Weight Management Choices as GLP-1 Use Climbs

Wolfson Group, a Scotland-based international consumer wellness company, is drawing attention to the shifting landscape of weight management in the United States, where prescription medications and non-prescription wellness products now coexist in a crowded marketplace. According to a June 2026 report from PwC, 21% of U.S. households included a current GLP-1 user as of May 2026, up from 9% in January 2025. That surge has brought renewed visibility to weight management, but it has also underscored the diversity of approaches consumers are taking, from nutrition and physical activity to non-prescription wellness brands.

Wolfson Group participates in the non-prescription category through PhenQ, its established consumer wellness brand, which is available to U.S. consumers through Amazon and, more recently, OneLavi.com. The company said the additional retail channel reflects a broader U.S. strategy of developing multiple distribution points while supporting its portfolio of wellness brands. The founder and CEO of Wolfson Group said the market is evolving and consumers have more choices than ever before, adding that prescription medications have become an important part of the conversation but that nutrition, physical activity and everyday lifestyle habits remain central to how people think about managing their weight.

The implications of the PwC figures are significant for companies across the weight management spectrum. As GLP-1 adoption more than doubles in roughly 16 months, the market is being reshaped not only by pharmaceutical demand but by consumer expectations around accessibility, education and the distinction between prescription treatments and non-prescription wellness products. Wolfson Group emphasizes that the two categories are distinct and that non-prescription products should not be viewed as substitutes for prescribed medical treatments. That stance matters as regulators and consumers increasingly scrutinize claims in the wellness sector.

Wolfson Group's portfolio extends beyond weight management into cognitive wellness, gut health and men's wellbeing, with brands such as TestoPrime and NooCube available to U.S. consumers through Amazon. The company said it will continue investing in consumer education, science-led brand development and expanded U.S. distribution following its participation in the September ECRM Vitamin, Weight Management & Sports Nutrition Session in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. For a marketplace experiencing rapid change, that combination of education and access may prove as important as the products themselves.
